Buttermilk Waffles

When you have buttermilk on hand, these waffles are so good!


  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 3/4 cup buttermilk

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted


  1. Preheat waffle iron to desired temperature.

  2. In a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder & salt. Use a separate medium-sized bowl or large measuring cup to mix the wet ingredients. Beat the eggs, then stir in the buttermilk, vanilla & butter. Pour liquid mixture into dry ingredients, using spatula mix until well blended.

  3. I like using a large cookie scoop to ladle batter into waffle iron (my waffle iron holds about 2 1/2 scoops of batter per waffle). Cook waffles until golden and crisp. Serve and enjoy!
